As someone who is currently missing out on a semester of school because of a suicide attempt, overwhelming depression and misguided school policies, this hurts.  I’m lucky that I am able to stay on my parent’s insurance, and that my antidepressant doesn’t cost more than a few dollars every month.  

I’m picking up the pieces of my life, and unlike many others, I have the energy, support and capability to get through this process myself and try to make it easier for anyone who comes after me.

Others aren’t so lucky.

In short, yes, yes, YES: There are people who want you on this planet.  Some of us have similar experiences and are trying desperately to get through this thing, too.
